Fire protection dampers are devices specially designed for use in fire extinguishing and fire protection systems in buildings and structures. Their main purpose is to control the spread of fire and smoke in a building, as well as to ensure the normal operation of ventilation systems.
The damper is available with a fire resistance limit of 120 minutes. Fire resistance limit of the damper KPD-120.
- in the mode of normally open (fire retardant) damper – El 120
- in the mode of normally closed (smoke) damper – El – 120, E120
Fire protection dampers are designed to be installed in ventilation air conductors to prevent the spread of fire and combustion products from one room to another by blocking the air conductors in accordance with the relevant norms and standards. According to their functional purpose, they are used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the premises of civil and industrial buildings and structures, in emergency smoke ventilation systems, to remove smoke in case of fire in order to ensure the evacuation of people from the premises at the initial stage of the fire.
The damper housing is made of galvanized steel from a European manufacturer. In particular, it has a high zinc content of 275 mg/m², while the traditional zinc content is no more than 140 mg/m². The rotary vane uses fire-resistant material. A thermoactive sealant is located around the perimeter of the blade, which expands under the influence of high temperatures and thereby ensures high tightness of the closed damper. The damper actuators are mounted outside the body. The damper flap automatically shuts off the air flow by the return spring of the actuator.
