Rooftop fans

Rooftop fans are equipment designed to remove hot or contaminated air from rooms through the roof of a building. It is an important component of the ventilation system, especially in rooms where there is a significant volume of warm or polluted air.

Purpose:

  • Ventilation: the main purpose of rooftop fans is to provide efficient ventilation by removing contaminated or hot air from the room.
  • Cooling: they can also be used to cool rooms by exhausting hot air.

Construction:

  • Fan: it has an impeller rotor that is driven by an electric motor.
  • Housing: the fans are housed in a special enclosure that protects them from weather and dirt.
  • Construction materials: cases can be made of metal or plastic, depending on the operating conditions and weight and strength requirements.
  • Mounting system: for roof mounting, they can have special fasteners or flanges for easy and secure attachment to the roof structure.

Installation:

  • Location: rooftop fans are placed on top of the roof to maximize air exhaust efficiency.
  • Piping: they may also need to be piped or ducted to the exterior to exhaust the air.

Operating conditions:

  • Weather resistance: rooftop fans must be resistant to weathering such as rain, snow, wind, and sun.
  • Electronic control system: some models may have electronic control systems that allow the fan speed to be automatically adjusted depending on the conditions.
  • Maintenance: regular maintenance includes cleaning the fan and checking the motor.

Rooftop fans are used in industrial and commercial buildings to improve air quality and provide optimal working conditions.
